Allies, Friends, and Helpers

self-esteem

Investigating Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is the byword of many popular pundits. We are counseled to value ourselves for ourselves. Our social pendulum has swung distinctly in favor of rugged individualism, the go-it-alone spirit that vigorously eschews any hint that we might require strong helping hands to meet a challenge. Latter day success stories stress independent struggle and solitary triumph, as a disdainful eye is cast on any who feel the necessity to reach for external support. This extreme attitude even extends into spiritual affairs: many seekers turn away from proven, venerable solutions because they believe the ego can reveal all necessary resources if pushed hard and long enough. But how realistic is this attitude? Does it truly accord with the wisdom of those who have found authentic freedom and illumination? Does self-esteem necessarily equal spiritual autonomy?

Self-Esteem: Real Versus Faux

Although ultimate truth does indeed lie within, the isolated, walled-off persona still remains alienated from it. This ironic truth is the basis for spiritual alliance and solidarity in all their variegated forms. Compassion is mandatory for spiritual progress. And compassion declares we are so much more than our isolated egos. Thus, if we insist on traveling alone in our journey, we consign ourselves to walk in tightening, futile circles.

Self-Esteem In Spiritual Context

Sacred plants, to cite just one example, have proffered powerful assistance to pilgrims for tens of thousands of years. Lacking mundane eyes, ears, and limbs, they nevertheless serve as dependable allies and helpers. This fact should not strike us as surprising or unusual. We depend upon the Earth's bountiful vegetation for daily sustenance; is it any wonder that such life-giving gifts can transcend the merely physical? Lucky Six Farms has long been privileged to honor the deep inter-relationship between White Sage and those sincerely seeking purification and clarity of mind. If similar goals are high on your list, you might well find our products to be exactly what you need.

Touching Nature

nature

Removed From Nature, We Become Lost

Modern lifestyles appear to thwart our wish to get closer to Nature, to fully participate in the supportive cycles of our Earth. This desire is anything but superficial or faddish. In fact, it springs directly from our most profound intuition about just who and what we really are. Urban bustle, apartment, condo, or large-scale community demands, highly processed food, etc. may seem to take us uncomfortably far from the planetary Mother at the foundation of all life. To exacerbate our predicament, a plethora of syndicated voices prod us to become more like robots: mechanistically compartmentalized, free from any hint of moral accountability, and readily directed toward any end. Fortunately, unique channels to the vibrant heart of Nature still exist for those who insist on retaining that vital human connection.

Organic Products Bring Nature Back

Organic, wild-crafted products offer one route to fostering and supporting our Divinely sanctioned relationship with Nature. When such products also carry a unique spiritual valence, we can use them to fully touch the Source, the ancient, living energy from which we derive our being. In fact, this is the sole reason Lucky Six Farms White Sage Products were created, and why we make them available today. We believe that sincere motivation coupled with sensitive, painstaking work can make Nature accessible even in adverse environments.

White Sage Reflects Nature’s Purity

Here at Lucky Six Farms, our Earth receives the old-fashioned respect she so richly deserves. Each White Sage plant is tended and harvested with loving care. Since we understand exactly how to work with, rather than against, Nature, no petrochemical fertilizers or poisons are ever needed. The remarkable inner effulgence of White Sage is thus carried over directly from field to packaged product: essential oils, hydrosols, smudge cones and wands are alive with the living potency granted by Nature herself. We at Lucky Six Farms want to insure that no matter where you live or what your lifestyle, the abundance of Nature is always within reach.

Business, Life & Spirituality

confidence

The Most Valuable Token Of Confidence

My confidence in the work my colleagues and I do is absolute. Yet, for ordinary intents and purposes, we simply operate a small business like millions of others. What sets us apart from the rest? Similarly, I am often asked how I can reconcile my work on behalf of - and enthusiasm for - Lucky Six Farms White Sage products with my lifelong commitment to spirituality. "Isn't business fundamentally selfish and materialistic? Aren't commercial sales at odds with the free energy flow of our infinite universe?" they inquire. Although I appreciate my interrogators' sincere concern, I have no trouble replying, because I believe their perspective has become inadvertently constricted. Let me tell you why: our confidence rests not with raw economic gain but rather upon assured mutual benefit.

Customer Confidence Supports Our Own

Business is really nothing more than mutual transaction: in the wide world of non-human nature it is termed "symbiosis." Our gut is filled with microorganisms living at our expense but also enabling healthy digestion. Wipe out those little critters, and your food can no longer provide vital nourishment. Similarly, lichens grow in the most inhospitable places - like bare rock faces - because they are an ancient combination of an algae and a fungus, two very disparate organisms. What one lichen component lacks, the other provides; neither could survive such harsh environments alone.

Harmony Yields Confidence

I could give innumerable other examples of how the entire web of planetary life depends upon such harmonious exchanges. Doesn't love itself imply that what one has can be readily offered for another's need? In reality, it is simply greed, the insistence on unfair, unilateral gain, that has given business a bad name in our time. Lucky Six Farms' mission is rooted in profound respect for its customers. We strive to give back to them even more than we receive in remuneration as the wholesome purity and consistency of our White Sage products amply testify.

Karma Yoga

yoga

Karma Yoga Empowers Personal Creativity

In my travels, I have personally talked with many spiritual leaders who have emphasized the importance of karma yoga: that is, doing constructive work with maximal awareness. Whatever their individual belief systems or doctrinal alignments, virtually all were in agreement that humans were not machines and thus should not be content to accomplish goals as unconscious, unfeeling automatons. They also believed that being open, awake, and vibrantly involved in work influenced others to do the same, ultimately contributing to a better, more humane world. This yogic approach to work pays enormous subjective dividends, too, although no quantitative measure can be applied to such benefits. Specifically, it allows your intuition access to profound levels of understanding, both objective and subjective. In short, karma yoga enables the manifestation of hitherto undreamed-of creative abilities.

Karma Yoga Opens Channels Of Metaphysical Awareness

The other day I received a brief note from a putative correspondent who chided me for referring to the everyday reality of the metaphysical. Convinced that only what could be physically weighed or measured exists, he resented the fact that others might find much more to celebrate in life. To his dismay, I disagreed, although I could cite no algorithm or materialist dogma to support my position. Rather, I must rely on the solidity of personal work experience, of my first-hand observations of karma yoga. In particular, I am reminded of the keen observations of so many wise luminaries noted above whenever I see how Lucky Six Farms processes their White Sage Products. For example, those responsible for the distillation of our essential oils must exercise as much discretion and care in the practice of their art as any serious painter or writer. Ceaseless monitoring of every variable is required for the living, delicately aromatic core of the White Sage to be successfully concentrated and then preserved.

Karma Yoga Can Be Tested

Karma yoga produces tangible benefits. Those who use Lucky Six Farms White Sage essential oil become a natural extension of this focused, loving process. Indeed, I firmly believe the underlying mindfulness that generates our products powerfully influences all those touched by them to expand their senses, psyches, and understanding. Test my idea for yourself!

Tradition - Then and Now

nature

Nature Is Personified In Tradition

Is tradition ultimately rooted in the essential character of nature herself? If not, then ultimately what is the true value of tradition? Both tradition and nature carry a great deal of weight for Native Americans, but some in our popular post-modern community appear to have lost the actual thread of their intertwined significance. For example, I was recently amused to read how a school administrator proudly announced a "new tradition" for cheerleader attire. Such a typically superficial - if not self-contradictory - approach to tradition is a far cry from our practice here at Lucky Six Farms. We believe authentic tradition honors and elevates the Divine power underlying all humanity. We believe human accomplishment, no matter how impressive, springs from nature. For us, then, tradition must always be profoundly rooted in nature, in the loving, living embrace of Mother Earth.

Nature Empowers The Living Flow Of Time

Our hands and hearts at Lucky Six Farms purposefully channel the energetic continuity of living time flowing across centuries. Our working roles extend and amplify nature. We honor Native American tradition by respecting and empowering White Sage in all its manifestations: essential oil, hydrosol, smudge cones, bundles, and whole leaves. Each of these products embodies the purifying Spirit of this unique herb, an herb that has long played a central role in virtually all First Nation ceremonies.

Choosing Nature Is Choosing The Tradition Of Life

Today, industrial giants spend millions so their agents may scour the globe to locate and economically exploit healing vegetation that indigenous peoples have traditionally employed in their own communities for ages. Wouldn't it be better if we had more respect for the original - the traditional - knowledge of these sacred herbs? The White Sage products of Lucky Six Farms are organically grown and prayerfully processed, so the tradition upholding its spirit always remains strong and vibrant.

White Sage Heals Your Scalp

In the summertime, our poor scalps can suffer from oiliness and dryness at the same time.

What's the solution? Adding product usually increases the oiliness, and washing your hair too often will strip away the natural oils and increase flakiness. It seems impossible to find a balance between clean hair and healthy scalp.

That's what White Sage Hydrosol is for- packaged in a beautiful, cobalt glass spray bottle. It's beautiful. The spray bottle means you can carry it with you anywhere, and refresh your hair, skin, and scalp immediately. Unlike hair spray, you won't have sticky residue on your ear or cheeks, either- it works as a facial toner as well.

White Sage's healing properties stops your scalp from flaking away, while the cleansing properties cool and refresh your skin, making the too-oily greasy feeling vanish.

You'll also sleep better when you spray your hair and scalp just before you go to bed, because of the wonderful smell of white sage.

White Sage Hydrosol contains only two ingredients: white sage distilled in filtered water. The ingredients will not separate. The purity of ingredients means that even those of us with allergies can use the healing spray without a reaction.

Odors of Sanctity

ritual

Forging A Ritual Of Purity

Why have Lucky Six Farms' organic, ultra-pure White Sage products been so consistently sought after for authentic Native American and other serious ritual purposes? Often imitated but never duplicated, Lucky Six Farms’ essential oil, hydrosol, smudge bundles, proprietary formula cones, and whole leaves have established a reputation for unsurpassed quality not only in the Southwest but throughout the entire world. We know that rare aromatics like White Sage have enjoyed a uniquely exalted status in virtually all of the world's diverse spiritual traditions. In particular, earth-centered faiths like Wicca have turned to Lucky Six Farms White Sage for ready purification of people, objects, places, and situations. Frequently, our ultra-pure products have been held to forge open, mediating channels between Heaven and Earth, clearly conveying heartfelt prayers to those Higher Powers most capable of lending assistance to the ritual.

Ritual Is Based On Purity Of Heart

While materialist paradigms may dismiss such ideas as naive, they neglect the true basis for such ancient wisdom. Ritual may be mocked as empty show by shallow reductionists today, but it was not so in the past. Ceremony was originally intended as a vehicle to intensely concentrate group thought and visualization. Humanity's moment-to-moment connection to sustaining and enlightening cosmic forces transcends sterile boundaries set by narrow, contrived protocols, but the strictures imposed by ceremony kept superfluous ideas well out of bounds. Above all: we are and always have been aware beings who create through deliberative choice. Mindless accident has never defined who we are or where we are going. Biographies - even of the most cynical reductionists! - invariably read like narratives rather than lab manuals.

Ritual Can Link Us To Truth

Saints, seers, and mystics of all stripes know Heaven's living powers remain ever-accessible to our psyches, but disadvantageous circumstance or destructive thought may block our path to those life-affirming resources. In fact, this is why unique aromatic plants such as White Sage have appeared to lend us a helping hand even via the simplest sincere ritual. Lucky Six Farms is proud to play a vital role in fostering this positive energetic process throughout the planet.

Love's Labors Won

love

All You Really Need Is Love

Love is a word that endures quite a bit of use and abuse. Pop stars make us focus on its overtly romantic or lustful connotations, while advertisers prefer to target its ties to sensual enjoyment. But isn't love also a vital component of simple, harmonious living? Psychologists from Freud to Maslow have emphasized the role love plays in the lives of healthy, happy, productive individuals. I believe our post-modern concept of love is unrealistically constricted, since true love often embraces much more than a simple one-on-one relationship. Wouldn't we benefit in spiritual ways if the things we incorporate in our daily lives were actually produced by those who love - and thus deeply respect - their labor?

Our Products Embody Love

The managers and workers of Lucky Six Farms have always believed in the power inherent in spiritual love. They love the work they do to grow, maintain, harvest, and process their remarkable products, which simultaneously calm the body while energizing the intellect. Because they work intimately with the White Sage Spirit, they have first-hand experience of its living beneficence. Indeed, their fervent belief supports the consistent purity and ceremonial viability of their White Sage products for use in a broad spectrum of Native American contexts. In fact, we feel our love reaches out through our products so as to positively change and illuminate those who make use of them, no matter what the context.

The Intrinsic Power Of Love

Love is not a commodity but an attitude informing a concrete process. Although mass-marketers and cheap industrial producers make the word love more vacuous the more they employ it, a small minority of spiritually-aware suppliers are not so sanguine about the term. Working from a solid ground of genuine love, they slowly but surely spread its true meaning and power with every product they ship. With this in mind, I humbly and sincerely invite you to look into the products of Lucky Six Farms!

Touching the Authentic Plant Spirit

spirituality

Earth-Based Spirituality is Closer Than You Think

As many readers are acutely aware, authentic spirituality consists of more than attending weekly get-togethers. More than ever before in recent memory people are becoming aware of their intimate connection to nature and especially to the vibrant world of plants. There is, therefore, a justifiably increasing desire to open meaningful lines of communication with actual plant intelligences, the living plant spirits acknowledged and venerated by virtually all traditional cultures. However, materialistic paradigms offer us no help in this task; in fact, their narrow, reductionist approach to reality often derails even our most valiant efforts. This discourages some. Yet, accessing the profound spirituality of plants has never been easier!

Plant Spirituality is Intertwined with Yours

To efficiently overcome such pervasive conceptual obstacles, we must first reach out to deliberately touch plant spirits in our daily experience. The emotional and intuitive textures of our lives directly underlie who we are and our real relationships to our environment. When we make regular, practical use of a plant's power - and remain fully conscious of our debt to its service - we may begin to hold an authentic dialogue with the ancient, planetary dynamism, the supernal mind, from which that potency arises.

White Sage Spirituality

The ultra-pure products offered by Lucky Six Farms have long provided sensitive individuals and groups with the means to facilitate connection with the true spirit of White Sage. This is a particularly appropriate entity for those who wish to embark on a journey toward greater peace, understanding, and sympathetic resonance with all living things. White Sage expresses itself without interference or mitigation in Lucky Six Farms' product lines because they are produced and processed organically, with deliberate prayerful intention at every step. Soul-numbing industrial methods have been purposefully eschewed in favor of traditional approaches that honor the White Sage Spirit and leave it intact. Why not test this for yourself? The incomparable Spirit of White Sage opens its heart to you!

The Fragrance of Solomon's Temple

scented

Scented Sacred Grounds

Perhaps nothing would seem further from our modern concerns - or those of Lucky Six Farms - than the ancient sacred precincts of Solomon's Temple. Reputedly built by spirit forces at Solomon's command and serving its community for over four centuries, this legendary structure was finally destroyed by the Babylonians sometime in the fifth century BCE. One can only imagine the atmosphere of intoxicating sights, sounds, and heavily scented chambers encountered by worshipers so long ago. Yet, at least a few of its secrets still live to empower many today. Let me explain...

Scented Secrets

Some time ago, a band of those dedicated to preserving indigenous ancient traditions in a variety of contemporary contexts approached one of the scholar-abbots of Madre Grande Monastery for help. Although their request appeared simple, it was, in fact, biochemically quite challenging. They needed the full, concentrated purity of traditional White Sage smudging to be made safely available for healing ceremonies in small rooms and apartments. They came to the abbot because of his reputation for research and mastery of esoteric and obscure knowledge, especially that of legendary scented compounds. They knew he had spent decades studying how the undiluted, unmodified qualities of essential oils had been preserved and promulgated in the Temple grounds by Solomon's priests.

Scented Purity

The petitioning band was also savvy about the commercial incense industry; they understood that ordinary White Sage incense cones are stamped out from cheap sawdust and charcoal then dipped briefly in essential oil. Thus, these common cones carried a host of mitigating and even polluting aromas that would negate critical rites of purification. After a bit of analysis, thought, and experimentation, the abbot finally arrived at the perfect solution - and those who had sought his aid were delighted with his result. That remarkably scented, proprietary product is available today as Lucky Six Farms White Sage Smudge Cones. Experience testifies that the venerable aura of Solomon's Temple permeates and empowers each and every one!

Discovering the Meaning of Tradition

organic
By Alan Beck

Living The Organic Lifestyle

Society's recent appreciation of organic products reflects much more than faddish preoccupation. Indeed, this relatively new awareness underscores our increasing concern with issues of quality versus quantity, of abiding values versus meretricious ones. Like many others of my generation I sometimes find myself bewailing a general loss of tradition, especially the careful habit of lovingly detailed craftsmanship that characterized so many products of the past. As late as the early Twentieth Century common items such as furniture, tools, books, toys, and costume jewelry were marked by infinite attention to the finest points of both structure and functionality. In truth, the old style of heartfelt workmanship marks how organic energies translated into purely human effort. Organic is the style of Divine Intelligence intrinsically transcending everything vulgar, mundane, and pedestrian.

Organic Farming Is True To Nature And Ourselves

Interestingly, there are still a few rare places where such finely-honed focus thrives: Lucky Six Farms, for one! But how can we be so confident that this laudable tradition is not only truly authentic but also consistently maintained? The very basis of our White Sage wild-crafting and processing lies in our profound respect for the plant itself, a respect that honors the unique, eternally vibrant, living spirit underlying not only its traditional use but also our personal resonance with its life-force.

Organic Products Embrace The Real Source

Things regarded from their inception as merely material tend to be roughly stamped out, utilized thoughtlessly, and summarily tossed aside. From the beginning to the end of their lives, they are commonly regarded as nothing more than vacuous, fungible "stuff." But the array of Lucky Six Farm's White Sage products arise and have their being from a very different metaphysical basis. If the primary value of tradition derives from the intense effort, sincerity, and pure intent of the crafts-person, then we can be assured that our White Sage products embody the very same organic power venerated through hundreds of prior generations. We believe the Divine shines forth through each and every one.

Valuing Paths Less Traveled

psychology

Seeker's Psychology

Euclid implies the straightest path between two points is also the quickest, but psychology offers very different testimony. I've learned some unusual life lessons by treading the vast, uniquely beautiful southern California acres of Lucky Six Farms. Case in point: threading my way through the thick, often thorny brush so typical of the high desert landscape. How should we go about finding the best paths to our most important goals? Often, when my interest has been aroused by a particularly striking geological formation or topographic vantage point, I've trusted the seemingly ironclad conclusions of plane geometry and sought to reach the place via the most direct trails. At first blush, this approach certainly seems to be sober, clear-eyed, rational, and eminently sensible, given the wilderness of rough terrain dotted by spiny undergrowth separating me from my ultimate destination. Yet psychology wins over math almost every time.

Desert Psychology Is Subtle

How can I draw such a peculiar conclusion? Indigenous intelligences which blazed those trails understood that paths obvious to travelers would be equally clear to predators. So, in terms of desert psychology subtlety is a cardinal virtue while transparency can be a deadly sin. From my more mundane position, I've found what appears as the shortest, most obvious route usually proves to be nothing but a dead end. Thus, after a taxing series of laborious trials and errors, I find that the quickest, least precarious way is one that initially seemed quite obscure or even nonexistent. In much the same way, although we may long to experience the full benefit of energetic purification, we hesitate to make use of venerable yet unfamiliar aids like White Sage essential oil, hydrosol, or smudge sticks.

Lessons From Natural Psychology

The potent White Sage lovingly grown and harvested in the imposing shadow of Madre Grande monastery manifests its assistance via a number of little-known but amazingly effective products. By taking just a bit of extra time to travel the paths each one of them opens, it becomes possible to approach an empowering luminance with surprising ease.

Lucky Six Farms' Multitude of Brilliant Suns

symbol

What Creates A Symbol?

Can a meaningful symbol be penned by the hand of Nature? The old Doctrine of Signatures isn't referenced much today, indeed few of us are even familiar with the name. Widely known and believed from the earliest days of Imperial Rome until the waning years of the Renaissance, the Doctrine held that a plant's form often symbolized its worldly function. Post-modern science dismisses the whole idea as superstition, yet Paracelsus - one of Nature's closest observers and a founder of experimental medicine - put as much stock in it as the mystic Jakob Bohme. Apparently, this concept ultimately springs from theological roots, specifically from the notion that Divine Intelligence placed plants here with just as much purpose as people. Thus, a plant's shape and color might well embody a key symbol indicative of its unique practical value.

I am certified neither as a scientist nor a saint. Nevertheless, as I take my daily stroll through Lucky Six Farms, I'm forcefully reminded of this ancient notion at virtually every turn. Why? The White Sage itself, whether burgeoning in countless numbers through immense wild-crafted fields or rising solitary from the high-desert soil, first makes its presence known as a perfect, symmetrical whirl of leaflets: a miniature, vegetative sun bursting with blue-green luminance.

Clarity Of Symbol And Meaning

Even a child would be instantly struck by the similarity. The resemblance is clearly delineated. It stands out prominently wherever it appears, even in dense chaparral; many visitors have remarked how it almost appears to be glowing: quite unusual for such a small, low-lying young plant!

White Sage As Symbol

Interestingly enough, Lucky Six Farms' White Sage serves much like a friendly, easily-portable sun. Tirelessly purifying, energizing, invigorating, and ever supporting our own variegated pursuits, the White Sage has earned its reputation for facilitating all positive and wholesome works. For me, our life-giving star has long been accompanied by spirit allies that assist its work: one of the most efficient is the White Sage: it symbolizes a better world for all.

Healing with White Sage

                                                                By Monica Maghiar

White sage is one of the most sacred plants to Native Americans. For centuries, it has been used in folk medicine as well as in religious and healing rituals. Today, white sage is used by people that are interested in natural remedies, alternative medicine practitioners, artisans for: soaps, candles and lotions making and everybody else that wishes to cleanse homes and people of bad energy or influences. The native belief is that all ceremonies, tribal or private, must be entered into with a good heart so that we can pray, sing, walk, dance and live in a clean, sacred, honest  manner.

Physical Healing - Feel Your Roots

Make a tea using dry white sage whole leaves. Add to a cup of hot water and let it sit for at least four minutes. This tea can be used to treat stomach troubles, arthritis and headaches. It has also shown to lessen the painful effects of heavy menstruation, but should not be used by pregnant or nursing mothers as it can also decrease lactation production.

Add a couple of dry or fresh leaves to a bottle of water. Use purified, filtered or mineral water for better results. Close the bottle and let it sit so the healing properties of the sage mix in with the water. This can be used as a day-to-day drink or given to those who are recuperating from an illness as a tonic. Adding lemon and xylitol makes it very refreshing.

Put a dry or fresh leaf in between your teeth and cheek and let it soak to soothe a sore throat. Make sure you use organically grown sage. Don't swallow the leaf. Instead, replace it with a new one when it feels like there's no flavor or juice left. Leaves are also good to chew on when one fights heatstroke.
Mash fresh or dry leaves and mix them with water to create a paste. Wrap it using a cheesecloth and use it as a poultice over sore muscles, skin eruptions and rashes. You can also use it on the forehead to lower fevers, or on the lower stomach to relieve menstrual cramps. Leave the poultice in place until it has dried or cooled, or until the symptoms have subsided. Reapply the poultice as necessary, using a fresh cloth and fresh herbal preparation every time.

Crush and add dry or fresh leaves to boiling water. Remove from the source of heat and let it steep for at least one hour for use as a soaples shampoo, dye and hair straightener.

    Spiritual Healing - Tread lightly

White sage has been used by the Native Americans for thousands of years in order to primarily heal the spirit, which they believe in turn aids to the body’s ability to function properly.
Use a white sage smudge cone or smudge wand and fire to burn the end so it starts smoking. Walk from room to room, making sure the smoke reaches every corner. Use a cleansing prayer or make up one yourself. Think about asking the bad energy to leave the area and ask for protection and peace to come over it. When cleansing a room, light a smudge cone and leave it in a corner to burn off.
Keep the room closed so the smoke doesn't wander out, but make sure the wand or cone is placed on a heart burner or clay surface to prevent fires and to protect your furniture and upholstery. White sage has a pleasant sweet aroma, so you won't need to air the room afterwards. The smoke attaches itself to negative energy. As the smoke clears it takes the negative energy with it, releasing it to regenerate into something more positive. Tests have also shown that the smoke of burning sage literally changes the ionization polarity of the air.
Smudging is very effective when you've been feeling depressed, angry, resentful or unwell or after you have had an argument with someone. When this is the case, your entire energy field will require cleansing. At times it will be possible for you to perform this ritual for yourself, with the use of a lit white sage smudge wand. At other times you may detect the need for some assistance, both in terms of spiritual intuition and because it can be tricky to sweep the smoke over the entire outline of your body, front and back, head to toe. In a sympathetically conducted ritual, your helper will gather the smoke with their hand and draw it into the perimeter of your body. Special attention will be given to areas of stress and unbalance so that cleansing and protection can be experienced.

Use the plant to the highest of your abilities, showing with all your power, gratitude and respect for the benefits that you receive. Try to apply the same attitude in relationship with yourself, others and the world.

   Follow your bliss!

Walk on the Grounds

confidence

 By Alan Beck

Confidence In The Earth

Each morning as I touch the soil, my confidence in our planet's holistic healing power increases. Every day I walk the grounds of Lucky Six Farms, marveling at its expansive, organic White Sage gardens. I especially enjoy working directly with White Sage and contemplating its venerable power. It is a privilege to maintain a personal relationship with its remarkably cleansing, energizing, and uplifting spirit. Such feelings reflect more than superficial sentiment. I believe our California White sage offers a truly unique array of useful gifts to those seeking paths of authentic betterment today. In particular, for those lacking confidence in themselves, their society, or their world, the White Sage provides a unique remedy.

White Sage Rewards Our Confidence

Virtually all societies acknowledge the vital role played by plants; this is especially true in communities where profound, earth-centered traditions have long been maintained. But no matter what our personal beliefs may be, plants proactively support our lives: our physical, intellectual, energetic, and even spiritual states are closely tied to the living plant life around us - so much so, in fact, that too many inadvertently take that wondrous bounty for granted. The confidence we place in the Earth as our home, our primordial support is most directly evinced through our trust in the plant life that serves us. Nowhere is this better illustrated then in the ancient respect indigenous peoples had for the plant we today call the California White Sage.

Confidence Is Rooted In The Plant Spirit

Native communities, in particular, viewed their daily relationship with White Sage as particularly vital. Through it, even stubborn negative energies could be cleared away in a relatively brief period. It was understood that White Sage was consistently allied with the community's highest and best goals, as the beneficial Sage Spirit worked to open each individual's heart energy to abundant flow. And abundant energy translates into self confidence. Nothing of this has changed over the centuries. Thus, White Sage can, even now, be an important adjunct to our heart's most authentic expression. No wonder this remarkable plant spirit has been sincerely venerated by so many for so long!

Morning Surprise at Lucky Six Farm

Morning Surprise at Lucky Six Farm

By Corey Hale

It’s harvest time. Our White Sage has reached its peak potential, the time when the leaves are most aromatic and plump. The healing oils will soon fill the Sun Center with their aura cleansing properties. The beauty of the morning dazzles us as we gather at sunrise to begin.

The White Sage grown and harvested here, while common to this area of Southern California, is still a rare find in its cultivation and distillation. Located high in the mountains east of San Diego, CA., overseen by the monks of Madre Grande Monastery whose continuation is our mission, each plant is tenderly cared for on pesticide-free land, handpicked, and only organically composted.

Our most exciting news this first day of harvest is the discovery of a bird’s nest cradled into the sweet-smelling arms of a mature plant. The amazing protective properties of White Sage extending beyond the spiritual and metaphysical world in order to weave a velvety green cocoon of sparkling, sun-drenched branches around the nest, keeping it safe during last night’s crazy storm.
Back to the dazzling morning…
